A Day in the Life at Prep School

At 8:30 our teachers collect us from the playground and take us to our classrooms for registration. We join the rest of the school in the hall for the morning assembly where we discuss different topics and issues in the news.

Our morning lesson begins at 9:00 and usually consists of English, Maths or Modern Foreign Languages. During these lessons we are always involved in practical activities or discussion and we are all encouraged to help and support each other and share our ideas and thoughts. At the end of the lesson we always self-assess our work with a traffic light to show how well we have understood. Our teachers always give feedback and support when needed, which helps us with the next stage of our learning.

Break time starts at 10:30, where we have time to meet our friends from other classes, play games and support the youngest members of the school. We have a healthy snack and relax before the beginning of the next lesson.

After break, it is back into the classroom for the remainder of our morning lessons, which alongside the Maths and English, include ICT and Choir.

At 12:30, we are certainly ready for our lunch and we enjoy sitting down with our friends and teachers and talking about our news. During lunchtime play, we have lots of equipment for individual and team games and enjoy the time we spend using our lovely outdoor area and field.

In the afternoon, we are engaged in a range of activities such as History, Geography, P.E., outdoor learning, swimming, Science, R.E., Art and Design and dance. Our teachers always include our ideas and interests in their planning. We are always encouraged to present our work in the very best way we can and we are very proud to receive our pen licence.

We love to represent our school in different activities including water polo, dance, swimming, football and netball, where we are encouraged to support each other and strive to be the very best we can.

At the end of the day, we can relax in a variety of after school clubs including art, ICT, sports, gardening, homework or spending time with our friends in stay and play.
