A Day in the Life at Prep School

At 8:30am our teachers collect us from the playground and take us to our classrooms for registration. We join the rest of the school in the hall for morning assembly where we discuss different topics and issues in the news.

Our morning lesson begins at 9:00am and usually consists of English, maths or modern foreign languages. During these lessons, we are always involved in practical activities or discussions and encouraged to help and support each other by sharing our thoughts and ideas. At the end of the lesson, we always self-assess our work with a traffic light to show how well we have understood everything. Our teachers always give feedback and support when needed which helps us with the next stage of our learning.

Breaktime starts at 10:30am and we meet our friends from other classes, play games and support the youngest members of the school. We have a healthy snack and relax before the beginning of the next lesson.

After break, we're back in the classroom for the remainder of our morning lessons which alongside maths and English also include ICT and choir.

At 12:30pm, we are ready for our lunch and sit with our friends and teachers and discuss the news. During lunchtime play, we have lots of equipment for individual and team games and we enjoy the time we spend using our lovely outdoor area and field.

In the afternoon, we are engaged in a range of activities such as history, geography, PE, outdoor learning, swimming, science, RE, art and design and dance. Our teachers always include our ideas and interests in their planning and we're always encouraged to present our work in the best way we can and are incredibly proud to receive our pen licence.

We love to represent our school in different activities including water polo, dance, swimming, football and netball, and we are encouraged to support each other and strive to be the very best we can.

At the end of the day, we relax with a variety of after-school clubs including art, ICT, sports, gardening, do our homework or just spend time with our friends in 'Stay and Play'.
