Child safety online

https://www.internetmatters.org/hub/research/social-media-guidance-for-parents-and-carers/

This week I have been truly enlightened as to how aware our pupils are of the online world that is at so many of their fingertips with a couple of issues being brought into school. It is incredibly easy for our young children to get caught up in the ‘newest craze’ of whatever online platform is, without truly understanding the risks of using it. Whilst as a school we are always raising awareness of Online Safety in our P.S.H.E session and Esafety session, the work of ensuring children remain safe online must be embedded not only at school but also at home.  I am asking parents to regularly review their child’s internet use/ filters and ensure that they discuss online topics frequently we all have a full picture of what our children are accessing and perhaps sharing online. . If you are worried, or would like more information please contact the school office on 01616206570.
